Mites 2025/2026 Season

The Nashville Mavericks Mite Hockey Program is happy to announce 2025/2026 season plans. The 2025/2026 season will include multiple teams, allowing opportunities for all levels of players. Included below are frequently asked questions.

Evaluations for the 2025 / 2026 season will be held late May 2025. If you have interest in the program and missed evaluations, please email us at nashvillemavericks@gmail.com. Please provide your players name and date of birth when writing.

Who are the Nashville Mavericks? 

The Nashville Mavericks is a mite development program that focuses on skill development for 5–8-year-old hockey players. 

What makes the Nashville Mavericks different? 

Nashville Mavericks practices are high paced with a focus on giving every player key fundamentals to help individual players develop a good skating and skills foundation. 

What are the main goals for the Nashville Mavericks program?

The main goal of the Nashville Mavericks is the development of each player, as well as building confidence and skill at this early age. We have years of experience developing players, and a good foundation allows every player to have more fun playing the game they love. 

What are the key fundamentals of the Nashville Mavericks?

We believe in encouraging each player to get out of their comfort zone. Our goal is to make sure every player loves the game of hockey.

How will teams work?

Players will either be assigned to a travel level team or development team. The game schedule will be put together based on the team and skill level of the players. Our more advanced teams will travel 3-5 times per year and play in local tournaments, while our development team will not travel, and the focus will be on development versus games.

Will all the teams practice together? 

No. The upper-level group will have their own practice ice and will practice 3 times per week. The development group will practice 2 times per week. 

Does my child need experience to join the Nashville Mavericks? 

No. Players who are just starting out are welcome to join the Nashville Mavericks development team. 

Who are the coaches?

Coach Jordan French will be on the ice for all weekday sessions and skills sessions. We will also have coaches assigned per team to ensure players are getting feedback during practice sessions and games. 

What are the age groups?

2017 to 2020 birth years.
