Mites 2026/2027 Season
The Nashville Mavericks are excited to announce the Mavericks Mite Program for the 2026–2027 hockey season. This program is designed to develop U8–U6 players by focusing on skating fundamentals and overall skill development.
Over the past six years, the Mavericks program has established itself as a leading development pathway for young players aiming to compete at higher levels of youth hockey. Regardless of a player’s starting ability, the program emphasizes steady improvement and long-term growth. We recognize that players develop at different rates, and our goal is to support each athlete throughout their journey.
Frequently Asked Questions

For the 2026–2027 season:
- Tuesday & Thursday: TBD (start time between 5:30 and 6:00pm)
- Saturday: 8:00–9:00 AM (modified practice with gameplay)
On Saturdays, players are split into two teams to compete in games, allowing them to apply skills learned during the week.

On ice practices will be run by Jordan French. Game days, we will have assigned coaches to help on the ice and on the benches for the game play.
Can we participate in the practice only?
Yes. We have players who are only looking to practice and participate in the Saturday Scrimmages.
What can we expect as a new hockey parent?
The number one most important piece is getting the players to love to practice. The most improvements will happen during practices. One good practice session will equal 12 games played as far as puck touches and development. We really stress the importance of the process over playing too many games or being focused on game play vs. development. Even during our game play on the weekend we stress creativity and we want the players to build confidence.
